Okay so, I have a question for anyone who cares to share their opinion. For many years I have gone back and forth about what I think is appropriate for swim wear... At one point in my life I HATED one pieces... they go up your butt, they are so ugly, you can never find any that fit right..blah blah blah ( I am sure everyone knows how that goes. I know a lot of women who wear one pieces around their kids but on vacation with out the little ones they wear a two piece). I lately feel better in something that covers me up a little more, But I have seen a lot of LDS women wearing two pieces. So I wanted to hear how people felt about swimsuits..
Am I totally a nerd?!? Yeah I am ....
ONE PIECE

OR TWO PIECE

Not only is the one piece more attractive in that photo, but more modest. I wish I could wear that swim suit and look like that! B
I just found these on a blog... the http://www.modbeclothing.com/ . Adorable swimsuits!
I think two pieces and one pieces are equally cute!(I prefer the tankini)
If you've got the bod and you feel comfortable....go for the two piece! (I on the other hand will be hiding the post-Eli bod under a giant beach towel!)
It's a swimsuit, either way, you're almost naked; might as well get the tummy tan!
layers and shade clothing have super cute one, two, and tankini suits!!

I agree with Maggie. If you feel comfortable and look the part, then go for whatever you feel. HS days, I was totally 2 piece, like tankini. But now, post kids...I physically can NOT wear a 2 piece (stupid stretch marks!!) So I now go for the one piece. There's a great site: newport-news.com for swimsuits..I think it was us a couple years ago right? I found a great one that didn't stretch or anything...so I think either way you go, you'll be fine :)
I'm all about the tankini. Still two piece and more modest. Best of both worlds. Hate to say this, but while men are great, they have wandering minds...you never know who you are going to meet at a public pool/beach. So I feel the more modest the better. If it's your own pool or a friend's pool that is different.
Totally agree with Lyssa about the stretch marks. I totally feel your pain. In fact my first pregnancy was so hard on my body, that I have to wear shorts when I go swimming.
I just checked out those swimsuits at that site you posted Cairen. They are adorable!!! I wish Nate wasn't all like "You already have a swimsuit. You said it would last a long time." Bah! :)
I totally know who you are. I look at your blog all the time.
I cannot wear one pieces...my body is shaped too weird. I personally prefer tankinis (so basically a one piece. I think they are so much more flattering.
Hey I have mixed opinions about this as well...so I'll have to comment when I have a firm opinion...but I did want to let you know that we took professional pictures of Holland yesterday and in a couple of shots she had on your designer bows! So I'll have to send them your way and maybe she could be your little bow model. Oh and I'm glad to hear that the new things I've picked up are normal...I was scheduling my appointment for some OCD meds.
oh and I found THE cutest Juicy one piece swimsuit today online...too bad I don't have 200 bones to drop on a strip of fabric! So I'd say there are some super cute one pieces out there and I think it sets a good example for youth. I wish more women with awesome (cairen ballstead) bodies would wear one pieces and show how cute they still are covered up!
Cairen!
You are so cute!
Your blog is adorable, i haven't seen your little girls in awhile, they're so big!
What a cute family.
How are you liking Vegas?
